Exclamation FC4 installation error: no init found

I'm trying to install FC4 on my machine. My configuration is :

mainboard Intel D915GAVL, PentiumIV 2.66 ghz, memory DDR 256mb Kingston PC3200, fdd, harddrive Seagate 80gb SATA, cdrom52x Lite-on, monitor Samsung 591S 15 crt.

The problem is : When I boot up with FC4 disk1, and I press ENTER, installation stop with error message :

Try append root= option.

Then I try :

linux root=/dev/hdb

Then the error message changed to :

Warning: unable to open initial console.
Kernel panic not syncing no init found.
Try passing init= option to kernel

I've tried

linux root=/dev/hdb init=1
linux root=/dev/hdb init=1 acpi=off ide=nodma apm=off noprobe

All of that didn't help.
What should I do ?
