error installing fedora core 3

i have a :
-PENTIUM III 600 MHz
-512 MB DRAM, 133 ( 2- 128 and 1-256)
-HD 10GB (MASTER)
-HD 30GB (SLAVE)
-A VIDEO CARD ATI (NOT THE PROBLEM)
-SOUND CARD AUDIGY (ISNT THE PROBLEM EITHER)
i downloaded the 4 isos from the mirror on the red hat's site using flashget (download manager) and burned the 4 isos using the nero (it was on another pc that i downloaded and burned the isos).
i'm trying to install it on the pc described in the beginning and gives error and abort the install on 2 files (in the first cd): almost in the beginning glib-common (195 mb) sometimes gives error in this file. when it passes always give error in the ncurses ( a desktop manager, i think, 12-15 mb). These files are common to whenever type of install that i choose.
it says that can bad cd, insufficient space (????, the / have 9 GB, i didnt make any partition. the fedora handled it and made only the swap and the /) or hardware problem.
what can be?
i have tried installing the windows xp on this same machine and it gave error on the copy of 3-4 files. had to give retry on the copy of them. sometimes copied, sometimes not.
it can be BIOS wrong configured?
cd problem? the drive is new and good. i have tested the first cd when the fedora asks if u wanna test the media, and it said it was good.
frequency wrong?
bad motherboard?
corrupted the iso of the first cd? i stoped and continued the download some times. can be this?
what do u recommend?
please help me out.
i need this urgent.
thanks for the help.

I recommend not panicking.

EDIT: One thing at a time, the fact that you blew away your WinXP installation says that you either have a bad copy of THAT install disk and/or you have hardware problems. Unless you can get the thing to boot something it is kind of hard to help you.

i did it. i installed. changed the motherboard. the other gave support only to win98 (????, strange huh).
now the problem is that when it reboots it stop in one line that says something like "changing root filesystem". it's normal?
i have to put a cd in the cd-rom?
or i have only to wait?
when i hit ctrl+alt+del it says something like "stopping md ..." .
well my problem now is only this one.
thanks for the previous help and for the next ones too.
see ya.
