Error Installing

I had had some trouble installing so i did it via internet.

I installed it with no errors but when i go to restart and hit F8 for the OS selection thing only windows is in it. I boot from the disk again and then do the update wahtever and it says

"No kernal packages were installed on your system. Your boot loader conforation will not be changed."

can someone tell me what ive done wrong?

You're really going to have to give the exact error messages if you want people to be able to help you.
