Hello,

I am a n00b to Linux. However I know enough info to be dangerous and as such have setup my own hosting company. I am swapping from a dedicated server to one I purchased and I am having the following problem.

I setup FC4 with an address of 192.168.1.64 so I could work on the Server at home. My Gateway is 192.168.1.1, Subnet 255.255.255.0.

I changed the IP's and evrything through Webmin to reflect my new Subnet which is

IP 24.106.157.116
SN 255.255.255.248
GW 24.106.157.113
BC 24.106.157.119

However I cannot ping the Server from the outside world. Nor can I ping anything except a local IP on the Internal Network.

Obviously I am missing a config setting somewhere. It smells like a default gateway issue. Or maybe routing needs to be turned on? Any suggestions are welcome.

Is there anything I can do which might help in resolving this issue?

Hi,

The Noob figure it out. The /etc/sysconfig/network file did not have an entry for a gateway. I added that and we are off to the races. Hopefully this post will help someone in the future.

Webmin was unable to make this change or I was unable to tell Webmin how to make this change for me.
