CD install of FC4 hangs at pci_hotplug
I started with a working FC3 system and tried to upgrade to FC4 via yum using instructions from brandon hutchinson's website (I can't post the url because I'm new to this forum).
As instructed, I updated yum, updated fedora-release-4-2.noarch.rpm, disabled non-Fedora repos, updated kernel, disabled SELinux, and rebooted. During the boot process it get's to the "Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel." and hangs.
I downloaded the FC4 cd's at that point to try that route. When I boot with cd1 it runs to the pci_hotplug point and hangs.... forever..... Any ideas would be appreciated.
I don't remember all the specifics of the hardware, had it for about a year and a half, If you need exact models, I can tear into it...
HW:
Asus P4V8X-X
2GB Ram
2X 120GB Seagate SATA drives (mirrored)
2X 80GB ATA drives
nVidia Graphics card
-- Thanks for any ideas...
