Cannot boot to FC3 after removing bad windows 2000 installation

Ok, here's the situation.

I had Windows running on a machine which the hard drive failed. I installed a new hard drive and then went to install Windows and could not get it to boot due to a BSOD/SFCFILES.DLL error. I installed FC3 and it was working beautifully, until I tried again to install windows in a different partition. I then deleted that partition because I got the same error with windows. Now, when I attempt to start the system, I get a DISK BOOT FAILURE message. Apparently LILO is no longer in the MBR. I DO NOT have a boot disk for FC3 anymore. Is there a way to reinstall LILO without losing my Linux Installation? The linux partitions are still intact as far as I can tell.

Can I download a FC3 boot disk? If I can, how do I reinstall LILO in the MBR?

You do realize that FC3 by default uses grub as the default bootloader and lilo may not be installed. With that said, all you really need is;

http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu...6-rescuecd.iso

Boot into rescue mode, answer a few questions and follow the on screen instructions. Pay extra attention to the chroot screen and follow the instructions. When ready and type something like;

For grub; /sbin/grub-install --recheck /dev/hda
For lilo; /sbin/lilo -v

Thank you for you quick reply, I just downloaded the file and making the CD now. I guess I didn't realize that grub was the default boot loader. I will run this CD and see if I can get it going again. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks!
