Cool Can't get to internet?


I just installed Fedora on my machine and can't get it to connect to the internet. I have an external cable modem with usb connection. What to do?????

hi there
if ur modem is detceted in FC
then
either use

kppp

run

kppp

very easy setup

or use wvdial

man wvdial,man wvdial.conf

Cool

Good info, however, it does not seem as if my modem is reconized. What should I do?

hi there

go to limodems.org

get the scanmodem utilty from there
run it and u will find all details about ur modem,so that u an look for its driver

Couldn't get that to work. However I ended up connecting my modem to my nic and installed it in windows then I was able to get it work with Fedora. Thanks for the help.

The only other issue I have is Fedora does not recognize my soundcard. Any suggestions?

www.alsa-project.org

there u can get the driver for ur soundcard according to ur vendor
and see if it works
i haven't used it though,but got to know that this really works !!!!!
