after Update Fedora core2 to core3 , Do I need to rebuild my kernel?


After I use fedora core 3 installation CD to update my fedora core 2 system, Do I still need re-build my kerenel ?
or fedora core2 kernel will be re-built to newer core3 version automaticially after updating?

type uname -r in a terminal is it showing and updated kernel if not install a the new kernel off the cd. I take it you know how to install with rpm
