Yum / RPM problem deleting mysql-server

I'm running FC5 and trying to upgrade to FC6 but I have a proble. the package mysql-server won't update, won't remove, and install of FC6 hangs. I've tried deleting the --db files and rebuilding and not fixed. When I try to uninstall it hangs here:

rpm -qa | grep -i mysql

mysql-5.0.22-1.FC5.1
mysql-server-5.0.22-1.FC5.1
libdbi-dbd-mysql-0.8.1a-1.2.1
perl-DBD-MySQL-3.0004-1.FC5
mydns-mysql-1.1.0-1

On the second one - it hangs.

not sure why it would hang. Anyway try downloading the mysql-server rpm from FC6 and then install it manually using "rpm -Uvh --nodeps --force". Afterwards try and upgrade the other mysql packages.

I've run out of ideas on this one. I can't figure out why a particular package would cause rpm to hang.

I've never seen this before either. I can't upgrade it - delete it, nothing. Whatever I do it hangs and only on mysql-server.

When I erase another program using rpm it works. When I use the -vv option the next line after the line that mysql-server hangs on is this:

opening db index /var/lib/rpm/Triggername create mode=0x42

I don't know if this helps.
