Unhappy yum repositories problem.....

hi to all ..

im using FC1 at the moment .. evensince yesterday ive been facing problems with the yum repositories ...i got them updated by adding in it and then updating and then finnaly was able to get Synaptic installed ... now the problem is that whenever i try to do an update there is ALWAYS a problem ... sometiems it says please take care of the duplicate files or sometiems the broken dependencies and stuff ...

can someone please send me his yum.conf file list or the repos he/she is using so that i can do a good clear update and get stuff installed ??!!!!!

again .. im using FC-1

Synaptic uses apt, not yum.

If you are trying to use apt-get/Synaptic, then you need to modify /etc/apt/sources.list to access FC1 apt repositories.

There is a nice writeup on using apt for rpms at freshrpms (http://freshrpms.net/apt/).

There is at least one FC1 repo link on freshrpms and you can look around the fedora mirrors ( http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors.html ) for a mirror that provides an apt-style os/update/extras/etc. repository. I didnít use apt with FC1, so I never needed to find the repos.

You can also build your own local repo for apt as is explained in the freshrpms writeup.
