YUM: Damaged header.info
 
Hi,
I have a problem with YUM. When I try to start YUM, I get:
Code:
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: Fedora Core 2 - x86_64 - Base
Damaged or Bad header.info from Fedora Core 2 - x86_64 - Base
This is probably because of a downed server or an invalid header.info on a repository.
How can I fix the header.info file? And where is it located (when I try to search it with kfind, it always crashes :()?

yum problem
 
do you have AMD 64 cpu first of all ?
because if you don't , it means you don't need that repository at all
the broken header thing is not your machine fault, it's the repository maintainers fault.
so i would suggest either comment out the repo in your yum.conf file,
or clear your /var/cache/yum/blabla/headers/* and try yum check-update

I have an Athlon 64 and the 64Bit version of FC2

what exactly does blabla mean? there are several directories:
base freshrpms livna-testing updates-released dag livna-stable livna-unstable

The one named " Fedora Core 2 - x86_64 - Base " in your config file.

It's "base", which is faulty somewhere in your config, the cache or the server.

Btw, when you use livna-* repositories, you must activate fedora.us for x86_64, too, since rpm.livna.org depends on fedora.us.
