Question yum & proxy

i use proxy... for that reason i ve copied my proxy to the Red Hat Network Configuration like this -> my.proxy.com:8080 ..
So , when i click on the Red Hat Network Alert Icon to run , nothing happens...the program does not react..
when am disconected the icon appears just fine and everything goes normal...
what should i do??
