Your thoughts please, should be interesting to many

Your thoughts please:

I noticed something strange about the ati drivers and did a few comparisons. I would like any feedback about the following. And the Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing... The xorg.conf does have dri in it.

***Note I have a Radeon Mobility x1300

with ati-driver-installer-8.31.5-x86.x86_64.run or any previous:
glxgears
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
874 frames in 5.4 seconds = 161.480 FPS
833 frames in 5.5 seconds = 150.324 FPS
806 frames in 5.4 seconds = 148.639 FPS
834 frames in 5.7 seconds = 146.760 FPS
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 8379 requests (30 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

with ati-driver-installer-8.32.5-x86.x86_64.run:

glxgears
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
3851 frames in 5.1 seconds = 759.281 FPS
3846 frames in 5.1 seconds = 757.508 FPS
3874 frames in 5.1 seconds = 758.690 FPS
3820 frames in 5.0 seconds = 763.494 FPS
3840 frames in 5.0 seconds = 764.140 FPS
3960 frames in 5.2 seconds = 768.619 FPS
XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 52052 requests (49793 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

***Note has some problems when moving icons it is the icon and text in a white rectangle.
When notifications pop up it is in white rectangles.

with ati-driver-installer-8.33.6-x86.x86_64.run:

glxgears
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
874 frames in 5.4 seconds = 161.480 FPS
833 frames in 5.5 seconds = 150.324 FPS
806 frames in 5.4 seconds = 148.639 FPS

XIO: fatal IO error 104 (Connection reset by peer) on X server ":0.0"
after 8379 requests (30 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

***Note all xorg.conf files are the defaults.

Don't quote whole posts unnecessarily. It's extremely onerous.

The subject line was left vague on purpose. I bet if I had put something like "thoughts on ati driver releases" or something like that you would have skipped over it. I lot of people judge if they are going to look at a message by the subject line. I didn't want the whole judge a book by the cover to apply to this post. And as I know a lot of people wont look at a post if the subject line doesn't catch there attention, I also know that more people can't help but look at something that 1) is asking the person directly on their thoughts, and 2) makes people thing right from the start. Also, im not asking for anything specific answers at all just their thoughts on the above. Oh, and not only did you look at it but you also left me a message. ^^
