YahooPOPS RPM

Hi,

Do you happen to know where I can find a YahooPOPS RPM for Fedora Core 1?

Thanks!

Hi there,

I believe there is temporarily no need to download YahooPOPS, because you can use Google Mail.

Gmail gives you as much as 2GB of space, and even free POP download.

If you are willing to switch to thunderbird, you can use this extension, http://webmail.mozdev.org/ . It works beautifully.

Now this is why I like this forum, good answers quick! I already use TB and was wondering why somebody hadn't done this. COOL!!!! Now I got to figuer out what ports to use as it seems Mepis wont let me use the standard [below 1024] ports. Any ideas?

As far as i know, the port numbers can be known from your mail provider. For eg., Google gives 995 for incoming(POP) and 587 for outgoing(SMTP). They provide it on the site or something. As for Mepis, run a check against yahoo and see if you can dig out something.

yea what I do is just make the ports above 1000 so I just add 1000 to the difault port to make it easy to remember so instead of smtp on port 25 I make it 1025 or you can turn off your firewall. There is a how to guide on webmail.mozdev.org
