XMMS Problem

I have not had any problems with xmms when streaming from shoutcast but when I try to play a cd then I get no sound. I see the time moving with the track but no sound.

Is there anything else that I need to install.

You need to open alsamixer and unmuted the CD and increase the sound of the CD until you can hear it.

Well that did not work. XMMS still will not play from my cd rom but the cd player plays my cds just fine.

Weird it is?!?

It must be XMMS's fault then, I have the same problem in gentoo, haven't made it work yet. Use KsCD meanwhile. If you find why, tell me.
