Xircom pcmcia card seems dead

I have installed Fedora core 1 on my laptop after using 7.0 7.1 7.2 7.3 8 and 9 they all worked with my Xircom pcmcia card exept fedora core 1

With ifconfig i see my eth0 device with the ip adress i assinged to it but there is no net work connection what so ever.

mii-tool gives me an error

A network restart loads everithing fine but no go either

Is there someone else with this problem
And knows how to fix this

Yes
Service pcmcia restart
service network restart and then again no network

very frustrating

when i restarted my network connection i got an error about something busy yenha or somthing like that.

It seems to me something did not find initialize wright.

check your log file /var/log/messages when u stop and restart your pcmcia card. Also check /proc/pcmcia and see what settings r being used. check /var/lib/pcmcia/stab this should hold info when card is inserted and removed. To trest try inserting and removing and see what output u get then tell us

restarting pcmcia service gives me the following in /var/log/messages

cardmgr[1659] : exiting
cardmgr[3054] : starting, version = 3.1.31
cardmgr[3054] : watching 2 sockets
cardmgr[3054] : Card service release does not match
kernel: cs: IO port probe 0x0c00-0x0cff: clean
kernel: cs: IO port probe 0x0100-0x04ff: excluding 0x280-0x287 0x4d0-0x4d7
kernel: cs: IO port probe 0x0a00-0x0aff: clean
cardmgr[3054] : socket 0:Cardbus hotplug device

after the command sevice pcmcia restart i get the folowing messages on screen

Shutting down PCMCIA services: cardmgr modulesds : Device or resource busy
yenta_socket: Device or resource busy
pcmcia_core : Device or resource busy

The file /proc /pcmcia is not on my system

when i do a tail -f on /var/lib/pcmcia/stab i get the following 2 lines

Socket 0: Cardbus hotplug device
Socket 1: empty

After removing the card (still in tail) i get the folowing message
tail: /var/lib/pcmcia/stab: file truncated

Socket 1: empty

when watching the file with vi the Socket0: Cardbus hotplug device line is there also

WELL I BE DAMMED IT IS WORKING NOW
Strange i need to do a service pcmcia restart, remove and insert the pcmcia card, and then a service network restart and then it works.
Not the way it is supposed to go i gues but for now i am saved
