Xfce bug??
I'm running Fedora 17 64bit Xfce.
Just ran an update and rebooted. Applications now take over the taskbar like in Mac. No min, max, or exit icons though and cant access application menu while the task bar is taken over. you can see it here https://www.dropbox.com/s/rroi3fj3gj...%3A28%20AM.png anyone else experiencing some problems similiar to this? |
It's either that theme you're running in Firefox or the Xfce Windows Manager theme that you've chosen. If the latter, you can change it by going to:
Xfce Menu --> Settings --> Window Manager --> choose a different theme. Luck! ~Eric |
Are you sure you didn't boot into Gnome?

I found out my window manager died and my session got saved without it.
I had to clear my session by doing: Code:
rm ~/.cache/sessions/xfce-session* |
COOL! You should go up top here and use Thread Tools to mark this "solved".
Regards, ~Eric |
Very good work.

"Yeah, so this is possibly the xfwm4 crash issue with multiple applications
wishing to save on logout. ;( Upstream is aware of it and working on it, but has no fix as of now. Typically restarting xfwm4 or clearing your session gets things back into a good state. The problem occurs when you have multiple applications that all wish to put up a 'do you wish to save your changes before you quit' dialog. Xfwm4 gets confused and crashes, the session exits, but saves without a window manager. Sorry for the trouble, hopefully this will get fixed soon upstream..." - Kevin Fenzi |
