XawTV Doesn't Work

Please forgive me if I posted this twice I lost track of the other one.

I have a TV card and it worked by default with all other Redhat versions, using Xawtv.

Previously, I had alot of options I could configure to get the TV working.
One of them was cable (usbcast, etc) and I could change the channel lineup to NTSC.

Those options are gone. I reinstalled Xawtv three times, those options aren't there. It think's I'm in Europe, when it comes to the channel listing, and no channels come in.

The driver is installed too.

Has anyone been able to use Xawtv with Fedora?

Fedora should just use the same settings as Redhat9 - at least I had no problems.

The file that controls its behavior is /etc/X11/xawtvrc - here is what mine looks like:

-------------------------------------------------
[global]
ratio = 4:3
freqtab = us-cable
pixsize = 128 x 96
pixcols = 1
jpeg-quality = 75
keypad-ntsc = no
keypad-partial = yes
osd = yes

# [Station name]
# capture = overlay | grabdisplay | on | off
# input = Television | Composite1 | S-Video | ...
# norm = PAL | NTSC | SECAM | ...
# channel = #
# fine = # (-128..+127)
# key = keysym | modifier+keysym
# color = #
# bright = #
# hue = #
# contrast = #

[defaults]
group = main
norm = NTSC
input = Television
capture = grabdisplay
color = 49%
bright = 50%
hue = 50%
contrast = 42%

[KTXH]
channel = 2

[KHWB]
channel = 5
-----------------------------------------
... and more channels from here

Additionally a user can have their own config file in /home/username/.xawtvrc to tailor it to individual needs.

I did find another TV viewer that I prefer over xawtv though - called "tvtime".
See http://tvtime.sourceforge.net/ for details.

Hope this helps you.

Holy crap, TVTime not only rocks but fixed my interlace problem too!!!

One last question, is there a setting for XFree86 that changes the quality of the TV screen? Mine is kinda fuzzy but its a minor gripe.

Not sure if in XF86, but: have you tried the settings in tvtime itself? Right click?

What I like best about tvtime is the integration with xmltv - i.e. the short program description on click or whenever switching channels - try that out if you haven' t already. Details are on the tvtime website as well, look for xmltv.
