X Server Error When Desktop loads in FD2

I get this error when the Desktop starts up in Fedora2.

"Error activating XKB configuration.
Probably internal X server problem."

X server version data:
The X.Org Foundation
60700000

If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
- The result of xprop -root | grep XKB
- The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/xkb

Yes, I found that if you edited the XF86Config-4 file to remove one option line it wouldn't give the error.

OK. So you've edited your XF86Config-4 and now all is well. That's good. Maybe you can share more info on this as that would help the other members if they ever are in a soup like this.

These are the default XKB settings for XFree86 in your XF86Config-4 file. I Deleted the line: Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"

# Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
# Option "XkbModel" "pc101"
# Option "XkbLayout" "us"
# Option "XkbVariant" ""
# Option "XkbOptions" ""

# Option "XkbDisable"

Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
Option "XkbModel" "microsoft"
Option "XkbLayout" "us"

The reason you got this error is this line here:

Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"

I'm assuming this is beacuse you installed the ati driver which assumes your distro is using XFree86 server. Fedora is however using the X.org server so you just need to change it to this:

Option "XkbRules" "xorg"

See http://fedorafaq.org/#xkb for more info.
