hmm... no, I didn't use xmms or windows media player. I used by Rio CD MP3 player.
I don't hate everything microsoft. Honestly, I run XP 9 boots out of 10, but I love linux because of how complete and open it is.
You can change the way you window manager shows the files to you so that it doesn't take so long. I can't remember off the top of my head which system applet it's in... but's it probably also an option in the main toolbar of the window manager as well.

Hmmm. Do you know how to change the Grub loader to choose Dos as default? I do like linux, but it takes sooooo bloody long to load up. Plus my usb drive doesnt work, well it might, but with windows it detects it, loads it, and pops up the window with it.

vi /boot/grub/grub.conf

change the value of default, so it matches with your DOS entry.

My linux boots in just about the same time as my XP. I'm quite sure you have a lot of unnecessary services running on your linux.

Redhat is bloated. It's great for beginners, it is bloated. If you use slackware you won't believe how fast you load up.
This convo should be taken to a different forum.

Ok. Back to wma, you said Rio MP3 cd player, did you play the songs on your computer to see if they were messed up there? Because I have had problems with my MD player and wma's, but I just convert to MP3 and theyre fine.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. You sure the RIO Mp3 player can take WMA's? Is it supposed to?
