Just wondering, have you gotten you wireless card to work yet? I also use a Linksys Wireless card on my desktop running fedora core 2 and it works fine.

Yes I used ndiswrapper-0.9, which actually can install itself as an rpm. Instead of typing 'make install', type 'make rpm' and it installs itself as an rpm. I got it working on fedora core 2 and fedora core 3 test 3, which does not come with the kernel source. The rpm install only works with ndiswrapper-0.9 and higher, though. After installing ndiswrapper and loading the .inf file for my wireless card (make sure the .sys file for your wireless card is in the same folder with the .inf file), I simply ran

modprobe ndiswrapper

and everything came up fine.

I don't think so. I did not have to download any kernel source to get it to work. Why don't you try it and see?
