Wine & Desktop effects stop working after FC6 kernel update (2.6.1{8,9}) X86_64

After the FC6 X86_64 kernel update 2.6.18-1.2868, and with the new 2.6.19-1.2895, Desktop effects stop working and wine applications restarts the gnome and kde session !!

You probably need to re-install your video driver. I suspect you are using Nvidia's proprietary driver. Even though you can usually just rebuild the kernel driver, you sometimes need to re-run the entire Nvidia installer. That happened recently.
