Having the same problem in ubuntu 10.10

Hi there.

The situation above is quite similar to a problem I have that only occurs periodically. Using the
Code:
metacity --replace
does bring back the title bar with the min/max and close buttons. The same problem occurs periodically when I tried out Linux Mint (both 9 and 10).

I assume it has something to do with a window x manager, but I don't know where to attach the problem.

Any ideas are very welcome

The machine is a HP dx5150 SSF (AMD64)

Kind regards,
