Window Manager on Fedora 15 crashes with OpenOffice 3.3 Calc and Draw

Could some Fedora guru please help ? I
am running a Fedora 15 machine, and I
have downloaded and installed OpenOffice
Whenever I use OpenOffice Calc or Draw,
the screen goes blank, but the machine
is running. The crash is sometimes very
soon after start, sometimes a long time
after start. After that I am forced to
restart the computer. There is power to
the monitor, as the blue LED indicator
remains blue, and command line instructions
as 'ls' work fine. Also, I have noticed
that during these crashes, the harddrive
LED shows unusual activity. I have AVG
on the machine and it is just an year
old. I am worried if this is a HW or
SW issue ?
Any hints/suggestions would be of immense
help. Thanks in advance for your help.
