White screen then hashed screen on fresh install

I have recently installed fedora core 4 on an old machine.

I had to install using text based install. When I try and turn on the computer it boots to a white screen, after this screen the screen goes a grey and black hashed pattern after a while.

Im sadly not sure what the problem is

The machine is a Celeron 1Ghz with onboard graphics sadly not sure of the make of the graphics at the moment as its an old machine I was given

FC4 has such a problems with a few video adapters. Try FC5, its newer, and better supports hardware

will FC5 run on a machine as it has very little RAM as it was an old machine that was being thrown out. I think it has 120Mb of RAM do you think that FC5 will run on it

Surely, it will run, but may be not as expected. There's not so many differencies between FC3 and FC5 in requirements field. Give a try.
