I don't think so, there have been 3 test versions leading up to this release, check here. Of course, stability has always been something people debate when talking about Fedora, if that's what you're getting at.

The FC5 release is on schedule and was announced today? Iím shocked!

What happened to the traditional one week release delay?

Guess there were no trademark/patent issues this time.

No, there was a delay; it was originally scheduled for last Wednesday, the 15th. But hey, a 5 day delay is better than a week. Check out this news item.

It took me a few tries to download FC5 and most of the mirrors either only have up to 4 or are swamped too. I think this is partially due to it being slashdotted.

It was supposed to have been released a few weeks ago. Nothing has changed and releases are still being delayed as usual.
