"Larger", and "bloated" are two different things. "Bloated", to me, implies size that is not of meaningful usefulness, but I haven't found that with fedora over the releases. Nor have I found it slower, but rather, faster to boot up and faster to run. The tools for measuring these speeds are in the installations and have definitely shown increases in speed over time, on the same hardware. Newer hardware helps as well. YMMV.

Two really great workspace versions are Chapeau Linux (http://chapeaulinux.org/) and KororaProject
(https://kororaproject.org/)

These are what are termed remixes. A remix is the current Fedora with added stuff, eg, added software that the Fedora Project (owned by RedHat) cannot recommend or provide. Additions may include steam, vlc video/music player, codecs, colorfull backgrounds (patterns and pictures), and more.
