"Larger", and "bloated" are two different things. "Bloated", to me, implies size that is not of meaningful usefulness, but I haven't found that with fedora over the releases. Nor have I found it slower, but rather, faster to boot up and faster to run. The tools for measuring these speeds are in the installations and have definitely shown increases in speed over time, on the same hardware. Newer hardware helps as well. YMMV.
