I just installed it this weekend, and while it’s buggy, it’s pretty cool! Definitely faster than RH9! Why is it so much faster????
I chose the “upgrade” option rather than fresh install & have been wondering if that might have been a mistake (but at least worth a shot). Are fresh installs more stable than upgrades?
Bugs I’ve seen so far:
* Sound doesn’t work. Card seems to be recognized OK by the hardware browser oddly enough.
* Can’t connect to internet thru “modemlights”..
* Menubar seems to like to relocate from bottom to right side randomly.
* Launcher Menu locks up at times.
* Nautilus doesn’t work right. Can’t open photos in it for one thing...
1. uses kernel 2.6 this is much faster and better suited for mulittasking
2. Alsa support is a "todo"
3.try apt-get for Fedora 2 Test 1
this could be used instad of up2date
any bugfixes can be found via apt-get
I was having dependency problems, so I decided to try downloading the update in piecemeal fashion. I had some success that way and managed to download the kernel, but the new kernel doesn’t seem to agree with the old version of x-window, or at least that’s my guess. I tried to update x-window overnight but seemed to have some trouble.
Any idea what “mutt” is? The mutt update keeps giving me dependency problems.
Description :
Mutt is a text-mode mail user agent. Mutt supports color, threading,
arbitrary key remapping, and a lot of customization.
You should install mutt if you have used it in the past and you prefer
it, or if you are new to mail programs and have not decided which one
you are going to use.
There are dependency issues with mutt upgrading cyrus-sasl, upgrade all these packages first.
