Hi,

I've just installed the latest build of VMware Workstation 6.0.2 for Linux 64bit.

Always was fine configured and I can start VMware without problem....

I can succesfully create a Virtual Machine but when I try to power on this VM (Windows or Linux),

my system crash without error. No way, it always crash, I need to power off the system.

This is very strange since my system is always really stable.
I'm using Fedora 8 x86_64 with a 2.6.23 kernel.

Please help, is there a way to get VMware working on my system?

Regards,
Davide.

32bit version doesn't work on 64bit distribution

I solved simply by disabling virtualization from my vanilla kernel.
Thanks aniway
Bye.

The 32-bit version does work on a 64-bit distribution, I have used the 32-bit version on a 64-bit OS since workstation 5 was first released. One can even install a 64-bit guest if desired.

But I'm glad you have solved the problem.
