VirtualBox setup on multiuser Desktop Fedora 8
Hi all
I have done a fresh install of Fedora 8 on a quad core. I want to have a try at VirtualBox so I can install WinXP and see if my PIC programminf software will run and also the kids want to see if their SIMS 2 games will run on it. I have the desktop setup with four users. When I setup VirtualBox logged in under my user account ~gimmee it asks to allocate hard disk space for a new virtual disk and wants to put it in /home/gimmee directory. Does this mean I have to set up a virtual disk under each of the four users. This means if I allocated say 20GB I would have to do this four times and take 80GB of space, or can I setup one virtual machine maybe under root or something that can be accessed by all users using the same virtual disk space. Hope I am making some kind of sense. Look forward to any guidance you can give me on this. Cheers Gimmee :):) |
You have to put the machine outside the home directory. Each user can only access his own /home directory.
Then you probably have to add the virtual machine to each user individually... or you copy the configuration files in .virtualbox and change the owndership accordingly. |
