Smile virtual terminal


I am using Fedora Core 3 on my PC. By default there are several virtual terminals enabled for use (thru F1-F12), but suddenly I can't use it anymore. I had rebooted it for several times but still cannot get it back. I had even tried to add entry into /etc/fstab file :

1:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty1

2:2345:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty2 ......

as taught by some forum suggestion. Anyone know how to get it back?

Are you sure its /etc/fstab that you need to edit?
Is it not /etc/inittab ?

Yes. u are correct. The file should be /etc/inittab. But the problem is not solved yet. Any reason for this?
