Use thumbdrive to install Fed 9/10 on machine with no floppy/CD/DVD

I seem to recall once installing an older Fed distro over the LAN by booting from the floppy install and telling it the location of where I'd NFS mounted the fed dvd .iso. What I need to do now it that but from the thumb drive as the machine now has no floppy. So I want to put just the kickstart installer on the thumb drive, not a full live installation or the whole setup dvd. How is this done please?

A $20 1GB memory stick should be able to hold the whole LivedCD, with space left over. Is there some reason you don't want to take that simple route?

Anyhow, to make a memory stick bootable, just pop it in and use one of the partition editors to set it up with an active partition, and then do a grub-install on the (unmounted) device to get a MBR on it. (In fact, that will install a full GRUB boot system, so you can run whatever you want to boot on the stick and point GRUB at it.)
