Hi to all in this forum.

I have recently installed Fedora Core 5 and I get the following error while trying to execute the operation of a software :

error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.2.8: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Can someone help me in this regard.
Expecting a prompt response.

It appears to not be installed.
Try command:

yum install libstdc++

Assuming you have internet connection, if not, put the CD in a drive, from a terminal navigate into the rpms directory where the package is and run command:

rpm -ivh libstdc++xxxx.rpm

Replace the xxxxx with what the rest of the package name is.
