upgrading to F11. What to save

Hi All,

I have a computer that I installed FC6 on a couple of years back, and want to resurrect it. Over the past few days, I've discovered that my version is now 5 versions obsolete, and no longer supported. I'd like 'upgrade' to Fedora 11, but don't want to lose my settings (I'm not an experienced linux administrator. I somehow got the thing set up a couple years back with Apache, php, MySQL, webmin, etc. and would like to not have to do that again ;-)).
Can someone point me to a guide (or tell me) what all the files i will need to save in order to do a fresh install, but not lose my previous configurations? Would it be enough to save off:
/root
/home
/etc
? Would i also need to do a manual dump/restore of the mySQL databases?

Any help appreciated, Thanks

there have been so many changes in fedora since 6 , that most if not all of the fedora 6 config files will not work in fedora 11

i would only save your data ( music, videos, photos, office docs,...) and NONE of the config/settings files

I'd maybe print out or keep a copy of the cfgs for ref, but I agree with JohnVV that just dropping them back in will prob not work (properly).

ya, i went ahead and saved off all of my /etc /root /home /var directories, just in case (were only ~4GB). I was happy to find out that Fedora 11 was a breeze to install (after the 3rd try of burning the DVD), and didn't take much to get all my old stuff back up (re-populating the mysql database from the directory was the most difficult part).
Thanks for the tips
