I have been using PAE kernels for a couple years and never had a problem until now. I am not a programmer so I honestly hope someone understands what is going on. I did my best at writing down all the information given in the error message as follows;

Does any of the above make any sense?? I cannot even figure how I am supposed to fix anything since the computer completely freezes at that point!

Is this the newest PAE kernel? Can you use a different kernel without any problems?

Yes corp769. I have always been using PAE kernels because of having 8 gb of memory. As is, the 2.6.35.11-83 PAE kernel is the update or upgrade from 2.6.35.10-74 PAE kernel which I am happily able to go back to, but I really do not understand the problem with the new kernel.

I certainly can wait until another new kernel comes along but I am a little worried that the problem may repeat itself with any further kernel upgrades. Of course, the ultimate solution is just to wait until FC15 comes out, but I am still confused as to what went wrong.

Any help is gratefully appreciated.

Some might say, "Why upgrade at all if what you have is working?" As is, at least to some degree, I can agree with that. However, as little as one year ago I could not use my printer in Fedora and had to have a dual boot of Windows and Linux. Upgrading over the year finally brought along many new packages that now allow my all-in-one printer, copier, scanner, and fax to work 100%. SO the ultimate response is that upgrading makes more things work for me. So, while 1 kernel not functioning for me may not be a major issue, I just hope none of the later ones dysfunction as well.
