update openoffice.org via yum on FC3 report error, and the fan works not well.

The FC3 installed to Toshiba A65-s126 very well, when I via yum update, the laptop shut down suddenly, I checked the laptop, it is very hot and I remember the fan does not work. when I boot the laptop again, the fan works until I turn off the laptop. when I via yum update again, there is an error reported, said the system had openoffice.org-1.1.2-libs and openoffice.org-1.1.3-libs installed, I can not update the openoffice.org via yum, and can not uninstall the openoffice.org either. have any idea about how to fix the openffice.org? thanks.
another problem about the fan, the fan will worked all the time when the laotop boot, or the fan will does not work all the time when the laptop boot. until the laptop turn off. How do the fan works by itself?
sorry for terrible English, the english is my seconde language. I hope I was described the problems clearly enough. thanks anyway.
