Unknown hanging during boot up

I am currently facing a quite weird situation when booting up the my labtop running Fedora Core 2. When i got connected to the network using ADSL, the booting process running smoothly, without trouble.

However, when i unplugged the network cable and started the computer the booting process seems to take longer time and at the line "Sending Sendmail " or something, the computer hang up and stay there forever.

Could anyone help me with that? Very much appriciate.

I beleive you need to have your hostname properly setup in '/etc/hosts'. The first line should be something like (without the quotes)
'127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost'
If you don't need sendmail just completely disable it from boot:
# chkconfig --level 35 sendmail off
-or- use 'serviceconf'.

Sendmail typically will hang if there are no reverse zone entries in DNS.
