Hi,

I have a FC8
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.26.8-57.fc8 #1 SMP Thu Dec 18 19:19:45 EST 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

My app runs only on FF5 and so i am trying to install FF5 on FC8, however i am getting an err.

I downloaded firefox-5.0.tar.bz2

When i run the FF i get this err.Plz help me .

[root@localhost firefox]# ./firefox
./firefox-bin: /opt/firefox/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by /opt/firefox/libxul.so)

Kindly tell me the steps to resolve this issue..I have searched online forums but could not resolve it still...

Fedora 8 is well and truly no longer supported, and you probably shouldn't be using it.

Upgrade to Fedora 16 (released recently), and it should work (you can test this with a liveCD, to be sure)

as fukawi1 stated Fedora 8 is 8 versions OUT OF DATE ,and has not been supported since Dec. 2008 .
also WHY the also old firefox 5 ??? the current is Firefox 8

install fedora 16
