Unable to Access USB DVD Drive in FC5

I can't access my USB DVD drive. It doesn't show up in /media or /mnt. Checked dmesg logs and it shows up there.

A google search showed a problem with USB 2.0 devices on the FedoraForum.org site. He was showing errors in his logs while the devices were plugged in. His solution was to replace the ehci_hcd driver with the ohci_hcd driver. This limited him to USB 1.0 speeds, but his problem cleared.

I'm not showing any errors in the logs, so I don't think it's a driver issue (just did a yum update as well). I just can't see it when I drop in a CD.

Can anyone help me on this?

Just create a mountpoint for the drive;

mkdir /media/usbDVD

Then as root edit the /etc/fstab file and add something like;
Code:
/dev/scd0    /media/usbDVD  auto  noauto,users,ro  0 0
Also look into creating a new udev rule to make this device always be /dev/scd0;

http://fedora.redhat.com/docs/udev/
http://www.reactivated.net/writing_udev_rules.html

.
