Hello, and thanks to whomever is reading this thread. I run Fedora Core 5, on a Gateway Solo 2150, with a Dell TrueMobile Wireless card. I installed both GNOME and KDE. For some reason or the other (probably due to lack of RAM) I start off in the bash log in instead of a GUI login like normal. I would like to know how to switch between GNOME and KDE from Bash. I tried Switchdesk, but it says command not found.

Whenever I try to Activate internet connection, wireless, It only works 1-15 times, if there is anyway to help me with this, please do!

To go GUI, look in /etc/inittab and find a line somewhere near the top, that looks like this:

id:3:initdefault:

Change the 3 to a 5 and reboot. You should reboot into a GUI mode.

Not sure how to switch 'from bash', but you can change the default desktop by editing /etc/sysconfig/desktop. You should enter either 'GNOME' or 'KDE'.
