Transferring Hard Drive to Newer Computer

Hi there --

I recently acquired a system, minus the hard drive, that is newer than one that is currently used in production. The current system is running Fedora Core 3. Is it feasible to move the hard drive as-is from the older computer into the newer one? Or would a better approach be to simply do a scratch install once the hard drive is transplanted into the newer computer?

You should be okay with a simple transfer --- I did the same thing the other day when a motherboard broke. The boot after transfer picked up all of the new hardware.
