TOTEM plugins (Gnome, FC4)

Hey there...

I'm trying to play lots of AVI fils with TOTEM (gnome, fedora fc4, 64 bit edition) but it always says I havn't got plugins to play the file... I guess it means codecs

here's the original message

Code:
ERROR : Totem could not play 'file:///home/zuki/DL/cncmvHigh.avi'.

There were no decoders found to handle the stream in file "file:///home/zuki/DL/cncmvHigh.avi", you might need to install the corresponding plugins
Help is needed, Thanks :]

You may want to install Mplayer, which usually comes with many codecs needed to play these files.

Download the codecs from mplayers website(go to downloads -> other binary codecs -> all). Copy them to /usr/lib/win32. There is no need to install mplayer because totem should work if you have all the plugins installed correctly.

If you don't have it then create it . As root do,
Code:
#mkdir /usr/lib/win32

I've made this dir and added the files after I extracted the *.tar.bz2 file, but
it didn't work... I didn't rebooted but I guess it should work without rebooting

I've also added the same files to
Code:
/home/zuki/.gnome2/totem-addons
but it didn't change much

any solution?

Do you have totem or totem-xine installed?

Try installing totem-xine instead of totem. You can get it from the livna repository.

Totem uses gstreamer so you need to get gstreamer plugins/codecs.

solution : *****

I've went to http://stentz.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=97 and then all the gstreamer* plugins.
1 didn't work, but the rest did with rpm -i

then now all works.
