Here's some info on "top" so those that view this thread don't go away empty.
You can view "top" by opening a terminal and entering "top" without quotes.
"The top program provides a dynamic real-time view of a running system.
It can display system summary information as well as a list of tasks
currently being managed by the Linux kernel. The types of system sum-
mary information shown and the types, order and size of information
displayed for tasks are all user configurable and that configuration
can be made persistent across restarts."
This is just a taste of the info that can be found by opening a shell or console and type in "man top".
I think most distros would have "Linux User's Manual" "man pages" available via the console.
