Hello. I'm not sure if I can be much help with specifics, regarding the kernel panics exact output, but I will try to detail as much as possible.
I have been getting allot of kernel panics lately, from x86_64 installation of Fedora Core 4, and more recently, the Fedora Core 5 installation cd is doing the same thing.
The problems came out of nowhere, on an existing, and fully working system. It started with a "BUG: Spin Lock On CPU0" message being printed over and over again when I started my computer, and this is after SELinux is loaded. The problem quickly migrated into a Kernel Panic, however, the computer would boot perfectly fine after the first Kernel Panic, meaning when I got up in the day, I would turn it on, it would kernel panic, I would reboot, and it work would fine.
I ignored the problem for a few months, and over time, it has become worse. Now, the computer kernel panics the first three times I turn it on in the day, (sometimes more, sometimes less), before it will turn on without problem. And the kernel panics are no longer just Spin Lock, although there seems to be a majority of them that are, I have had a kernel panic that whos calltrace was entirely filled with "asci*" entries, making me thing that the asci (harddrive i think) module is also kernel panicing.
Worse yet, when the problem became unbearable, I tried to upgrade to FC5, both the "boot.iso" for x86_64 in os/images kernel panics when I start it, and the rescue cd kernel panics. However, there seems to be an interesting pattern with the rescue cd. The rescue mode has never paniced, and has always worked fine, however, when I tried to boot installlation (from the same cd), it does cause a panic.
I'm very worried that my CPU or hardware might be damaged, as it was very expensive. Although, this seems unlickly, even for my large AMD proccessor, all of my cpu temperature readings show it has never gone above 30 degrees (I have a good quality fan), which is unlike my system temperature, which is about 35 on average.
