suspend seems to only lock the screen ???
hey fellow linux users,
i used to use mandrake/mandriva and well it is starting to get to heavy, so i decided to try fedora. my problem is simple and for me major. when i click on "suspend" all it dose is lock the screen. thats it. sometimes the screen blinks. suspend has worked before with other O/S so i know the bios fully supposets it. as well i followed the fedora faq and ran that one test $ gconftool-2 -R /apps/gnome-power-manager | grep can can_hibernate = true can_suspend = true so fedora knows it can suspend but still dosen't. also this is a fresh test install so it has no settings changed or anything installed. thanks for the help! |
graphical interface
It is under System --> Preferences --> More Preferences --> Power Management. It is set to never Sleep by default. You might have to change that. It goes up to an hour or never.

thanks for the reply, i did just disable it after trying every means of getting it to suspend. i'm gonna look for my mandriva install cds and try to see what mandriva uses.
thanks agian!!! :-) |
