Streaming internet movies

I think i have finally found the answer to watching streamed movies on the internet.
I have tried xine, totem, and mplayer but all have been inadequate. most times when watching small "movies", i try to open up another movie to play in the same player This has not worked because mplayer and xine open new instances of the player and hence causing errors. i finally installed xine with a totem front end and all was fixed. So is there a way to use xine and mplayer to do the same functionality without using a combination of the two?
If not i will just use totem-xine

yum -y install xine totem-xine

Movie Player

From what I're read on the Net, Multimedia seems to be
the Achilles Heel of Linux. I like Linux too much for
this to be a problem.

Has anyone had good luck with a movie player on Fedora Core 5?

If so, which one worked best for you?

I ran mplayer on SuSE 9.3 and liked it. I'm in the middle
of choosing a multimedia player for FC5.

I installed amaroK yester, but have yet to try it. Helix
and Totem are here as well.

Has anyone tried Video Lan Client a.k.a. VLC?

I use kplayer. It seems to provide a stable gui to mplayer.
Also have you tried the mplayer mozilla plugin.

Thanks so much Brian,

I didn't know about the plug-in for FireFox and installed it; also
updated my repository and installed Kplayer.

I should be fine for now.

Have a great day,

-s
