How do I get yum not to do this, so I can get future updates without having to look for their names amongst the kenerl-module-nvidia spam and re-running yum with arguments?

Hi

Hi

I was having the same problem, and rpm -e (to uninstall the unneeded nvidia modules) did not work. I kept getting cross-dependency errors. What I did to fix this was to install yumex (the graphical frontend to yum.) This gave me the option to remove packages as well as install them. When you install the .8762 driver for nvidia, it will automatically prompt you to delete the unneeded old ones.

Hope this helps.

Bob

Okay, I used yumex to uninstall all the old nvidia drivers, and the old nvidia-glx.

Unfortunately, I still can't install what I'm looking for!

I think someone at the repo got a dependency backwards

Processing Dependency: kernel-module-nvidia = 1.0.8762 for package: nvidia-glx
Shouldn't that be the other way around?

EDIT: Oh hey, a shiny new kernel update! And installing it fixes my problem. Hooray!
