[SOLVED] Stopping Fedora 16 (Shut down System)

I have just installed Fedora 16 on a VM (VMWare).

When running from the Live CD and after installing, it told me that Gnome could not run because of incompatibilities with the Graphic driver.

Otherwise, the installation seemed to go OK - but my Desktop Menu Bar only shows me "Applications" and "Places" - I was expecting to see "System". Consequently, I cannot log off or shut down the system.

Has my installation failed - or should I be looking somewhere else?

If it is gnome 3, you may want to venture to the right-top corner, click on the current user, a menu should appear, select logoff...

You may run in fallback mode...a bit sober (to my taste) so not everything could be accessible...

By the way, Linux is a very gratefull thing in that is basically will run on almost anything...perhaps a hint for a clean install?
