Startx : Won't start

FC3 2.6.9-1.681_FC3
Xauth: error while loading shared libraries: libXmuu.so.1 : cannot open shared object file
no such file or directory.
Also the same error for libX11.so.6

init: Id "X" respawning to fast: disabled for 5 minutes

What object files are lost ?

I can login to root.

Some where along the line the xorg-x11-libs package was removed or damaged. I would suggest reinstalling the Fedora RPM package with:
rpm -Uvh --force xorg-x11-libs-6.8.1-12.i386.rpm

You could also try to find these files with a:
locate libXmuu.so.1 libX11.so.6

Both files were (past tense) in /usr/X11R6/lib.
I wiped my harddrive.
