Startup Items

Hi folks,

I'm running FC4 at home, wanted to add a dynamic DNS to the startup.

Normally I'd think I can add it to the rc.local file, but for whatever reason it doesn't seem to be picking up.

Isn't there a way to get it into the rc.5 or init.d so that it executes on startup? I tried through the gui (services... add service) - couldn't add it.

Help?

Ben /ND

you can always add your own service file in /etc/init.d/ and control it with the standard service tools. just copy an existing basic one ensuring that the line starting "# chkconfig" is retained as it's that comment that identifies when to stop and start.
